Located in Simi Valley (population 126,181), about 45 minutes northwest of LA, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, is the Reagan Library and Museum. This homage to America’s 40th president evokes the grandeur of the ‘80s in size and scope. Over multiple floors are 24 different galleries. Adding to the experience are a short film about Ronald Reagan and interactive displays where you can be part of a Reagan film clip and West Wing types can pretend they’re addressing the nation from a podium bearing the presidential seal. Perhaps the best thing about the library and museum — besides checking out a replica of the former president’s Oval Office or enjoying a pint at the on-site Ronald Reagan Pub — is the chance to tour Air Force One 27000, which flew seven US presidents from Nixon through George W. Bush.
