I live in the New York City area, so I understand why New Yorkers call their home the Capital of the World—but I have to disagree with them. To me, the real center of the world is Rome. In the four times I have visited there, I have seen more stunning artworks (Michelangelo’s Pietà at the Vatican City), more spectacular architecture (the Pantheon), and more ancient history incorporated into daily urban life (Ponte Santangelo) than anywhere else. Although I have already traveled there more times than I have anywhere else, I never feel like I’ve seen enough.—Andrew Tedesco
