The Villa Borghese is Rome’s green heart. This vast park is close to both the elegant Via Veneto and the famous Spanish Steps, which will lead you straight here. There are acres of soft lawn for midday lounging and gravel paths for a morning run.
For one of the best views of the Colosseum head to the Colle Oppio. Part of one of Rome’s famous seven hills, here you can see the ruins of the ancient baths of Trajan and neighborhood kids playing an afternoon game of soccer.
