Not Your Average Tent

Large arrow left

It's all uphill after checking in.

Take your bags and stroll along the winding wooden footbridge that takes you in and out of the forest with the occasional view of the Straight of Georgia. A few hundred yards later you come across the first tent, nestled in its own private corner of the woods. Keep going until you find yours, and after you do, the next few days will be a struggle as you debate whether or not you should leave your tent and explore the rest of what the Sunshine Coast has to offer. I absolutely hate "relaxing" on vacation, but I had no problem lounging around the tent and not making plans.

Heated floors, showers, a therapeutic whirlpool, a fireplace and a private patio overlooking distant islands and endless amounts of water, these tent suites at Rockwater really are amazing.

We were there during the off-season and during some pretty large storms, but that didn't have any impact on our stay. In fact, it probably enhanced it. The inside stayed totally dry but the rain pelting the tent added a pretty awesome element to a stay that needed no other enhancements.

The food in the restaurant was very good. Pricey, but good. The eating situation is tough in that area because there's just not many other options close by, so plan ahead if you'll be eating out. Otherwise, enjoy the views, the peace, and the relaxation!
