Mr. Ganas' Rug Store

After one run to the bank and one final trip to the post office, I was finally back in the rug store. I had less than an hour to finish my shopping, thank the man, get some lunch, return to the hotel, and leave for the airport. Back at the store, I learned the store was called Ganas and that was his last name. (Mr. Ganas told me his first name but I could not pronounce it and I cannot remember it. I took a card but his name isn’t on it.) As I picked out souvenirs for my brother, cousin, and one for myself, Mr. Ganas told me and Susan about his family. He told us about his three sons, their travels… He patiently explain the origins of his rugs and other merchandise–Greece, India, China, and the Middle East. In those few minutes I was in Mr. Ganas' store, I did not want to leave Greece. I was touched by his generosity and kindness, his eagerness to help. I was very sad handing over my money because it meant we had to leave. He gave me one of the small weaves I had chosen for free and gave me discounts on the other two items. “Gift to you! No worries!”
