Soak in Mineral Springs with Views of the Rio Grande
Truth or Consequences, formerly Hot Springs, New Mexico, changed its name in the 1950s in honor of the popular TV and radio show of the same name. Even with a name change, this town stays true to its original credo—the home of natural mineral hot springs that were used by the Native American tribes who first populated this area. Today, visitors can soak in the healing waters at a variety of hotels and spas around town. Riverbend Mineral Springs Resort and Spa is set along the Rio Grande, with soaking pools offering views both of the river and Turtleback mountain in the distance. Although the public pools are lovely, opt for a 50-minute long soak in a private pool for the best experience. It's a relaxing—and remarkably affordable—destination.
