I have eaten well in my life. I have lived in many places, including the last 7 months in Italy. I have never. But never. Eaten like I did at Da Muzzicone. It was at da Muzzicone where I finally realized what all the fuss around Tuscan food was about. Simple, yet perfect ingredients, prepared without fanfare, but with care and attention. There are no menus, so it's best to be able to speak at least some Italian, and you'll need reservations. Those details in check, the meal will blow you away. Steak like you've never dreamed, perfectly aged, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked (as long as you like it rare). With as much flavor as steak tartare, but with grilled edges, it's a steak lovers dream. An antipasti platter that includes bruschette of unparalleled fabulousness, various salumi, and a board of salami and cheese where diners take as much as they want. Contorni are exceptional, and the dessert of vin santo (brought to the table in its entire bottle, you take what you want) and cantucci redefined how powerful a simple dessert can be.
