So they’re called Rip Van Wafels, my friends. And they are Rip Van Wawesome. What are they exactly? Delectable disks of caramel-filled waffles the size of your Heinekin coaster. These cookies were created by “Rip” an Amsterdamian who started making Dutch waffles in his college dorm room when he was struck by a severe case of homesickness. If you want to get all faux-continental, here’s how it happens: 1) Brew yourself some coffee 2) Fill mug with coffee 3) Tear open the Rip Van Wafel (oh, the packaging!) 4) Place tender Holland premium waffle over steaming mug and let the cookie get its melt on 5) Sip, chew, sip, chew, ad infinitum 6) Start wearing black turtlenecks and wire rims 7) Change your name to Hans.
