Contemporary art expert Philomena Schurer Merckoll has turned a garden-courtyard home in the heart of the Medina into a stylish, six-room retreat. Minimalist decor accented with leather poufs, vintage kilims, and other finds from local souks pulls in a young, design-savvy crowd. Each room has a theme: One, named after Beat writer-artist Brion Gysin, displays a painting from his Moroccan travels. Staff can arrange insider trips to buy the best carpets or explore the art scene. At night, guests head up to the terrace for movies. From $171.
