The Reptile Discovery Center houses about 40 snake species. Owner Carl Barden extracts the venom from these highly dangerous snakes so that it can be used for medical research, the treatment of snake bites, and public education. Visitors can watch him take out the venom from behind a glass wall and learn how the venom works. In addition to about 900 snakes, the center also has lizards, alligators, and turtles, some of which you can hold. There are indoor exhibits and an outdoor trail for visitors to see larger animal enclosures.
