Eclectic coffee shop in the neighborhood of South Park, San Diego
When I was staying with family in Burlingame (a neighborhood in San Diego) one of the things I enjoyed most was getting up in the morning and walking to Rebecca's coffee shop. Eventually, they branched out and moved next door into a much larger place. There's the usual large overstuffed couches, a lot of table and a stage for spoken word artists and musicians.
I live in another area of town, so don't get here as often but I always think fondly of this coffee shop. The coffee is good, never burned and they have a selection of hand made pastries. It's a large coffee shop, yet retains a cozy and neighborly feeling.
To top it off, there's a locally owned bookstore right across the street called The Grove - http://thegrovesandiego.com/ that sells books, clothing, cards and a great selection of yarns for those who like to crochet or knit.
