South India - Off The Beaten Path
Secluded beaches, kayaking into the sunset, fresh fruit and juice stands on every corner, and tall, handsome men — I was on my first trip to the region of Tamil Nadu in southeast India. The southern part of India is still largely untraveled by bus loads of tourists and thus appealed to me in my search of discovery. Tamil Nadu offers white sand beaches and the turquoise sea to the adventure and water lovers with the promise of enjoying the vast ocean as their personal playground. The beach life atmosphere will make you feel as if you are in the Caribbean but the presence of colorful Indian culture and life is evident. The colorful temples and women dressed in bright colored saris will remind you that you are in fact in incredible India.
