Volunteer w/ 'Do Good As You Go': RainTree Foundation - Chiang Mai, Thailand
Want to have an off-the-beaten-track experience while you visit Thailand? Bangkok is amazing of course, but if it leaves you with something to be desired consider Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai city is located only about 700 kms north of Thailand’s capital city and offers variety of experiences that are not available in Bangkok. The rich indigenous cultures of northern Thailand can be experienced through traditional architecture, delicious cuisines, various customs and beautiful artwork. Chiang Mai is also home to an abundance of natural resources that can be enjoyed by nature and sports lovers, from elephant riding to river rafting.
The ticket to truly delving into Chiang Mai and the culture is Do Good As You Go, connecting travelers to communities and organizations. In this hidden gem, we work with The Rain Tree Foundation, a grassroots social non-government organization, operating in northern Thailand among rural and underdeveloped communities. Their aim is to help people through education, appropriate technology and self-directed projects, to create sustainable improvements to their living standards. Volunteering while traveling is the key to authentic experiences and a deeper understanding of the place and people one meets along the journey.
Volunteering with Do Good As You Go is no-cost volunteering and the commitment ranges from as short as one day to 6 months. To get involved simply visit the Do Good As You Go Website and fill out the Get Involved form!
