Rahmi M Koç Museum overlooks the Golden Horn and is a treasure trove of models and memorabilia from Turkey’s transportation, communication, and industrial past. The kids can have a hands-on experience sitting in the cockpit of a Bellanca plane, get involved in science experiment,s or simply enjoy exploring the enormous range of exhibits that include steam trains, vintage cars, a 93m US submarine, a tug boat and even a 19th century penny farthing, to name a few. This really is a museum the whole family can enjoy. Check the website for ticket prices and information about visiting the museum. Do consider pairing this excursion with a trip to Miniaturk—three kilometres to the north—also along the Golden Horn.
Rahmi M Koç Museum is closed Mondays.
