Befitting the adrenaline capital of New Zealand, the Queenstown Trail allows you to choose your own adventure tailored to your interests and cycling ability; its 60 miles of trails can be completed in a few days, but the setting will likely convince you to stay longer. Connecting the towns of Queenstown, Arrowtown, and Gibbston, there are trails to delight families, thrill-seekers, and wine-lovers (and any combination of the three).
The Gibbston River Ride winds through vineyards such as the Chard Farm, which dates to the 1860s, and is now run by a family as passionate about bikes as they are about pinots. Stop to take in the view at Kawarau River Bridge, where millions have (happily) jumped off by bungy cord and zipline, or find tranquility among the deer on the remote Twin Rivers Trail overlooking the Remarkables mountain range.
