Nothing says Christmas like a Tea Room with Live Doves, Plush Corgis, and Fine Tea
We sat tucked in a corner near the gilded cage with the cooing doves. Pots of Creamy Earl Grey and Darjeeling teas steeped on our table next to the flowered, fine bone china tea cups. We clinked our flutes filled with Kir Royales and celebrated the coming together of two long-time friends over Holiday Tea at the Queen Mary Tea Room.
Known as the Oldest Independent Tea Room in America, the Queen Mary is a cozy, two-room restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon High Tea. They also sell a myriad of delicious teas, desserts, tea pots and cups, plush corgis in several sizes, and crowns (if you need one, and really, who doesn't?). At Christmas time the selection expands to Christmas ornaments ranging from miniature tea cups and pots to Downton Abbey ornaments.
Just down the street is the Queen Mary emporium with a larger selection of tea and Brit themed gifts.
