New city, new list.
I'm a planner; always have to have my list in hand of places to go to, things to see. If I have time to spare, my list helps make suggestions and keeps me on track to make the most out of every adventure I take.
That's where I found myself one afternoon in July as we made our way from place to place in the heart of the city of Vancouver.
I'm a sucker for a gorgeous garden, so I plugged in the address of Queen Elizabeth Park and away we went.
We parked and walked, didn't quite know what the fuss was all about. It's easy to do; to get lost in the grass and the tennis courts, so much like a normal park you'd find in any neighborhood. Until you walk over the hill and see the gardens all around you.
"They don't charge for this?" I said that over and over again as we crossed bridges, gazed at koi swimming in their ponds.
You can't go to Vancouver without taking in the breathtaking views. Right in the heart of the city, you can experience anything you desire. When the people and buildings and traffic all get to be a little bit too much, take a few minutes to put the quietness and serenity of Queen Elizabeth Park into your travel plans.
