Pracna on Main is hands-down my favorite bar in Minneapolis for many reasons. Here are my top three:
Established in 1890, it's the oldest restaurant located on the oldest street in Minneapolis - historic Main Street.
On warm nights, Pracna's huge patio is packed with people, especially after 9 p.m. One of their main attractions is a daily late night happy hour, where you can sample a large variety of domestic microbrews for $3.00. Their beer menu is constantly in rotation, so you can drink creatively on a regular basis without trying the same beer twice.
Colder nights are better spent tucked inside where it's all dark wood, candle light and a giant picture window overlooking the Mississippi River and downtown skyline. The bartenders and waitstaff are always polite and quick to engage in conversation or give an informed beer recommendation.
As an added bonus, the bar is reportedly haunted by a ghost that teases the late-night staff.
