I never stay in swanky hotels. Ok, ok, I have stayed in a few, but only when I did not have to foot the bill. But when I decided to attend this years’ ESTC12 Eco tourism conference, I could not resist staying in a hotel that is claiming to be green. I am always saying I am an eco or sustainable traveler; it is about time I stay in a green hotel. What makes this hotel so green? Well, there are trees in the lobby, LED lights around the hotel and organic soap in every room. But the hotel is actually LEED certified, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LEED_certification, starting a trend of hotels being more conscious of the way they run their business. Now, if you’re a recent, broke grad like me, this is not the best of ideas; but I have to admit I almost took the bed home with me. Plus there’s a micro brew no site!
