Havana, Cuba is home to some of the world's most beautiful architecture. Massive buildings are ornately designed, and every few blocks there is a city square where locals join together to chat away the afternoons.
I was lucky enough to stay near Plaza Vieja. The square quickly became my favorite during my time in Havana, as it is host to a booming new private dining scene that was recently legalized in Cuba. Cafe Bohemia and Azucar!!! were among my favorites. I also enjoyed chatting with locals, and I even played catch with a neighborhood kid named Yudel. It was great to mingle with Havana's residents, and see the old an new world Cuba unite.
Whether eating an entire meal, or just sipping a cafe con leche, Plaza Vieja is the perfect location to enjoy a relaxing Havana afternoon.
