After traveling by train from Florence through the Alps, I spent several days in Lyon. With my home base being a wonderful, small bed and breakfast full of eclectic pop art, I set out to discover the sites, sounds, and of course, tastes of Lyon. This photo of a statue of Louis XIV stands in Place Bellecour, one of the main gathering spots in Lyon. Having been to several cities and towns throughout France, I had yet to visit France's gastronomic capital. It didn't disappoint. The bouchons, the Sunday market along the quay, Lyon is a foodie heaven.
