A trio of imposing Buddha statues stands guard over this two-story temple’s courtyard. It may be in the middle of the city, but you would never know it when standing in this tranquil space. Here, sheltered from the bustle of urban life by ornately carved pillars and jade-hued roofs, monks worship and meditate much as they have since the place was build in 1934. As the largest temple of its kind in Da Nang, this atmospheric pagoda is a vibrant meeting place for the local religious community. Breathe deeply, contemplate the mysteries of the universe, and then adjourn to any of the nearby restaurants serving up Buddhist-friendly vegetarian fare.
