As a celebration of some obscure Christian saint spilled onto the street in Cuzco one day - I couldn't help but be struck by the pre-Christian elements adorning the participants.

Roadblocks in Peru
On a two week vacation to Peru, one of the most memorable parts ended up being the crazy farmer's strike in 2008 that shut down many of the major roads throughout the country. The farmers used massive rocks to block roadways, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through. After having spent an unplanned night frozen in a bus at a 10,000 feet altitude, we were asking "are we there yet?" so we could finally get to Cuzco and Machu Pichu.
