One of the region’s finest old wine towns whose local vintners include Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Latour, Paulliac sits on a waterfront lined with old villas that hint of long ago wealth gained from wine trade. Filled mostly with pleasure craft today, the marina hosts a small bronze sculpture of the ship Victoire in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette who embarked from here on his way to aid in the American Revolution.
