Parroquia de Santiago
The town's oldest church serves as the starting point for the Camino Inglés, where English pilgrims who had just landed in port would begin the walk to Santiago de Compostela. Here, as in churches and shelters along the pilgrimage routes, you’ll find representations of scallop shell motifs and Saint James (look for him on horseback above the entrance) repeated in the decorations. Arrive before the noon mass in summer to see pilgrims receive their stamps, otherwise given on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the parish house.
