King Penguins in Southern Chile
Within the last five years, a new colony of approximately 150 King Penguins have reestablished on a narrow strip of land on Isla Grande, Terra de Fuego, Chile. They are having a difficult time however, as people come unauthorized at night into the park and touch the penguins and their young, which the adults have been known to abandon. You can visit the park during normal hours and for a fee, and it is well worth the all day trip! Best achieved through a tour from Punta Arenas, Chile.
