If ever in Old San Juan in the island of Puerto Rico, visit the Parque de las Palomas (Pigeon Park). The view to the San Juan bay will transport you to Spanish times. Forts and huge stone walls will reveal themselves after a hike up the cobble stone street. In the park you will be the human perch for hundreds of pigeons that will chase you around for a few pieces of corn that you can buy from the vendor. Paper bag in hand feel free to walk the park and take in the island from another point of view. Then walk down to the Hotel El Convento for tapas on the terrace, visit the endless galleries and await the sunset in La Isla del Encanto!
