At opulent Schönbrunn Palace, tucked away past the zoo, is the peaceful and reflective Palmengarten (Palm Garden)
You will be tempted to spend hours at the palace, and so you should. And after that, you will wander through the outdoor gardens, maybe walk the hedge-maze. If you have kids or love animals, the zoo will call to you. If you need to stretch your legs, you'll wander up the long hill for the stunning view of the palace and beyond. And after all of that, you might think the Palm Garden just won't be worth it. Don't succumb. It's worth the short visit.
Inside are succulents and palms and all manner of flowering glory that I can't possibly name. It's a beautiful place to regain your balance and inner peace. I highly recommend you slot this garden somewhere between the zoo and the palace, and enjoy the outdoor gardens as you walk from one to the other. If you have kids who are starting to freak out, this will calm them down. If your feet are starting to complain, a bench in here for a few moments might be all they need to recuperate for the tourism march ahead.
If you are a photographer, the flora photo ops in here are unending and singular.
Your eyes will be invigorated. Your body and soul will have a much needed peaceful moment.
