Paddington, located about 3 kilometers from the CBD (Central Business District), is one of Sydney's many bohemian inner-city suburbs.
The land is associated with the Aboriginal Cadigal people, but traces of their roots are hard to find nowadays. More pronounced is the later influence of European middle class settlement, resulting in rows upon rows of terrace houses. Some of them (as seen here) named for their original owners yearning for their homeland.
I highly recommend a walk through this attractive suburb, soaking up the history and architecture. There are of course plenty of great shops and good food to be found, too.
