The rolling green expanse of Oxon Cove Park transports you from city to countryside in a matter of minutes. Here you can experience rural life as it once was and see how it's changed over time—from a plantation home during the War of 1812, to a hospital farm, to the National Park site it is today.
At its center is the fully functioning Oxon Hill Farm, with regular, ranger-led educational demonstrations. Here kids can help milk cows, pet horses, feed chickens, and collect eggs.
The landscape is dotted with stables, barns, a silo, and a windmill, and it can be traversed by foot or wagon ride—or just enjoyed while sitting in silence in the grass.
