Near Bodleian
This is the imposing heart of the university, a cluster of buildings dominated by the circular Radcliffe Camera, built in the mid-18th century. Behind the Radcliff lies the main part of the Bodleian Library, the most famous book collection in the world. An underground tunnel (not open to the public) links the Bodleian with Radcliffe Camera. (The word camera means 'chamber' or 'room'.)
