Outstadt means “old city” in Dutch. And you’ll be in for some beautiful, if decaying, views of colonial buildings when you visit this atmospheric neighborhood of Semarang. Old Dutch town houses and warehouses line the streets. While walking around, be sure to pop into the Gereja Blenduk, a circa-1750 church that houses an incredible Baroque-style organ. An amazing collection of contemporary Indonesian art is displayed inside an old Dutch warehouse nearby at the Semarang Gallery.
