Black mountains. Those mountains in the background are the source of the name, Montenegro. Here before me in the Bay of Kotor is the tiny, picture-perfect islet I’ve seen in literature, the very image that lured me to the place. And now, it’s mine. In my viewfinder. In my camera. My own image of Our Lady of the Rocks--the island, the church—to see whenever I want to remember. I know the legend now of this artificial island 15th century-style made by sailors and locals putting rocks and hope in the sea, keeping a promise, making a dream come true.
