Still dreaming of the best steak we've had...
We chanced upon the Osteria Aquacheta while exploring the lovely hill town of Montepulciano. Chef Giulio Ciolfi, the owner, specializes in the Tuscan specialty, the Bistecca al Florentia. Basically, the porterhouse cut from the local bred of Chianina Ox. The meat was meltingly good. Simply seasoned with salt and pepper, then grilled to perfection. And so was the rest of the menu - honest italian fare, lovely pici with a ragu, salads with local percorino cheese and desserts made with local honey... Top it all with the local red wine... I'd be back in a heartbeat - if there isn't so much of the world I'd still want to explore!
