The tiny Lake Garda town of Malcesine offers many restaurants tucked away on small cobblestone alleys, but we chose to eat at Osteria alla Rosa because that's where the locals seemed to be. And we were not disappointed. We were treated to authentic, homemade Italian cuisine featuring locally sourced ingredients served on checkered tablecloths, surrounded by walls covered with antique farm and kitchen tools. In warmer weather you can sip wine outside under the grapevines and watch pedestrians pass. Costs are reasonable for the quality of the food presented; our meal at Osteria alla Rosa was one of the culinary highlights of our trip.
