It’s hard to believe that Old Montréal is not really in old Europe. From the river, you can see the 19th-century Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica and the gorgeous silver-domed Bonsecours Market, both national historic sites. In contrast, Moshe Safdie’s Habitat 67 housing complex is a futuristic landmark. You can check your watch against the Montréal Clock Tower, which lies on the riverbank.
