Ogura Honten

Tucked down a small alley, Ogura Honten has more of a claim to fame than its nondescript exterior would indicate. This is the spot where Miyazaki’s signature dish, chikin nanban, was created in the 1960s. The entrée—marinated deep-fried chicken slathered in something like tartar sauce—draws crowds of locals and tourists alike.
