Dias de los Muertos Exhibit every year
Every year the OMCA hosts a Day of the Dead exhibition which is one of the best the Bay Area has to offer. Celebrating local communities, you'll find installations and altars from a diverse mix of cultures. Local artists & Oakland school children create altars each year. Paying tribute to California's past and present this exhibit is not to be missed. The museum also brings together collections of art, history and natural science under one roof (3 exhibition halls) to tell the extraordinary stories of California and its people. Lots of hands-on exhibits. There's also a lovely sculpture garden where you can have a picnic. Check website for special events & pricing.
