As a die-hard domer, I can't honestly say that it doesn't matter if they win or lose...
But, as most people generally love to hate the Irish when it comes to football, I promise you, no matter who you cheer for, there aren't many bucket-list experiences in sports that compare to a home game on a crisp fall day in South Bend, Indiana...
First, it starts with an obligatory trip to the bookstore to load up on gear for the game, then, as you are undoubtedly hungover from Friday night, stop by the Morris Inn tent tailgate for a mighty-necessary Bloody Mary, which you can drink en route to a Knights of Columbus Steak Sandwich.
To be honest, I don't know what the K of C do the rest of the week, but on Saturday mornings, they make the best damn steak sandwich you'll ever have. So good you'll want two.
From there, dip down to the Grotto, light a candle and say a prayer for ND-- we need all the help we can get:)
After that, it's time to watch the 200+ member marching band play the fight song on the steps of the Golden Dome to get properly fired up so as to eat as many brats and drink as many beers as you can at the tailgate before kickoff.
if you follow those steps properly, you may get upset at the outcome, but it will still be a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable day.
