This nouveau Italian eastside stop is deserving of attention. Start with the attentive staff and menu offerings, progress through the nice selection of Italian wines and wonderfully crafted cocktails, continue with the food and don't look back until after dessert. Nostrana's exceptional quality cuts across all categories. We started our evening with the Dungeness crab pizza from the wood-fired oven and set a high bar for anything to follow. Out came the shaved Brussels salad and game on. Pasta with truffle, glazed chicken on a bed of crispy polenta and spicy onion relish. All prepared with skill to a state of perfection.
Nostrana's space is as dramatic as some of its recipes. Soaring beam work and a wood-fired oven centerpiece creates an open yet intimate, engaging environment. The dessert menu should not be overlooked, so save room. They also have a great lunch and happy hour service if a more casual approach to this wonderful food is your style. Nothing pretentious here, just exceptional food served by sharp waitstaff that care about you having a delightful culinary experience. Actually, I'll go out on a sturdy limb here and suggest the highly professional staff at Nostrana are some of the best and most attentive I've had the opportunity of being served by. It's time for Italian; go and get busy.
