Easy on the legs and eyes, the Hawke’s Bay Trails offer three different experiences of mostly flat, all-weather rides in and around the Art Deco haven of Napier, through vineyards and along the seaside. Families taking the Water Ride can get up close and personal with wildlife at the National Aquarium, then follow the coastline to see dozens of birds at the Ahuriri Estuary. The Landscapes Ride is also rich in birdlife, with the best views of the massive gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers from Clifton. Sip and cycle along the Wineries Ride, connecting three wine-growing areas. Award-winning wines and food can be found along all the trails, from the casual Bivvy Vineyard Cafe among the vines, to the state-of-the-art tasting center at Sileni Estates.
