Naoshima

Of all the world's sculpture parks and complexes of site-specific art, those on the hilly island of Naoshima and the neighboring Teshima Island are among the most stunning. Both are home to pieces that belong to the renowned Benesse Collection. From a ship you won't be able to see the paintings and sculptures by Monet, Giacometti, David Hockney and others, but you can appreciate the Pritzker Prize–winning architect Tadao Ando’s stunning design and a landscape studded with some 20 works, including Yayoi Kusama’s popular giant yellow Pumpkin.
