While taking a course at La Trobe Univeristy, my group was given the opportunity to camp and hike through a sacred Aboriginal area called Mutawintji. Luckily enough the unusual rains had created small green patches across the Australian outback.
I think my favorite parts of this trip were being able to sleep under the stars at base camp, having a very large campfire every night accompanied with bottles of wine, talking, singing, and sharing, and seeing a part of Australia that many Australians don't get to see.
Of course, being a photographer this amazing place also gave me a chance to get some amazing photographs that I won't get anywhere else in the world.
It's also obvious why Mutawintji is such a sacred place. It's beauty is indescribable, it's hard to get to, and you can feel all of its tales and history as you walk through the outback.
I'll definitely be going back here to camp and photograph again - a truly unforgettable experience!
