Music. Culture. Scottsdale.

It’s about time North Scottsdale found its cultural rhythm. The Musical Instrument Museum is bringing sounds from around the world together in a 200,000 square foot space dedicated to sharing music with the masses. The MIM uses special audiovisual technology to give visitors an exceptional experience. As you move through the space in your wireless headset, hotspots fill your ears with the melodies of faraway lands and American legends while audio clips provide great tidbits of musical history. The MIM brings together music and instruments from over 200 countries and territories around the world. Add to that the special exhibitions, workshops, kids activities and regular live concerts, and the MIM has quickly become the destination for music and culture in the area. Swing by the MIM Café while you’re there to refuel before heading to the Experience Gallery and trying your hand at banging the drum and strumming the guitar. Stop by and I promise you’ll lose yourself for an entire afternoon.

The most amazing museum right in my backyard.

We’ve traveled near and far and been to plenty of museums. Nothing compares the Music Instrument Museum. There are instruments displayed from every country in the world. Next to the instrument is a flat screen tv showing a 30 second clip of locals playing the instrument in their native land. It’s the most engaging and entertaining museum with an awesome restaurant serving local cuisine.
