Museum of Memory and Human Rights

The political history of Chile from 1973 to 1990 is still a delicate subject in many respects, but at the Museum of Memory and Human Rights, an effort has been made to address the turmoil, the politics and the painful years that began with the overthrow of President Salvador Allende and continued through the regime of Augusto Pinochet. Like other museums and public places that memorialize a painful past, the museum relies on photos, documents and other artifacts to bring this history to life in an effort to ensure that the lessons of those times are never forgotten. Closed Mondays.
