Museu Centro Cultural João Fona

Praça Avenida Adriano Pimentel,s/n ,Prainha - R. Adriano Pímentel, S/N - Prainha, Santarém - PA, 68005-270, Brazil

The walls of Santarém’s municipal museum—housed inside a bright yellow 19th-century riverfront mansion (the third-oldest structure in town)—are covered with frescoes painted by Pará artist João Fona, from whom the museum gets its name. Highlights here include a fascinating collection of clay and stone artifacts from the Tapajoara culture that ruled these parts more than 6,000 years ago.
