Genova: Underrated Gem of the Italian Riviera
As a travel specialist and writer on Italy, my work has taken me all over this country. One of my most pleasant discoveries was the city of Genova. Seemingly industrial and rough on the outside, turns out to be one of the most interesting and beautiful city centers in Italy! For me, the architecture rivals that of Venice, it has the largest historical center of any city in the country and is filled with colorful people, buildings and fantastic food. The photo is of Palazzo Reale, one of endless extraordinary palaces you will find while walking through this enchanting city. I remember being so overwhelmed by its beauty that tears came to my eyes. While there is plenty of seaside fun and beauty to be had in Liguria, this gem of a city should not be missed either for your next visit to Liguria!
