Hands Full of Huckleberries
In late August I joined an intrepid bunch of campers (9 adults and 10 children) for a weekend camping trip in Mt. Rainier Park in the state of Washington. It's always nice to find a few yummy huckleberries while on a hike, but the abundance of them on this particular day stopped us in our tracks for over an hour. By the time we reached the end of the trail, our lips were purple and our pockets were bursting with berries. It's easy to make a day trip from Seattle, but it's also great to pack a tent and make a weekend of it.
