Travel back to the colonial times of the 18th Century via Manhattan’s oldest residence, Morris-Jumel Mansion, an oasis of calm perched above the urban vibrancy of Hamilton Heights.
The former owners and residents are a who’s who of American history including George Washington and Aaron Burr. Today the house is a museum and features nine rooms, restored to original splendor with authentic period furnishing.
The mansion is surrounded by the beautiful Roger Morris Park which includes a sunken garden and is perfect for aimless wandering, an afternoon picnic, and/or to just admire while seated on any of the wooden benches dotted throughout the grounds.
The mansion is opened Tuesdays-Sundays 10am-4pm.
