Savannah's only craft brewer, Moon River Brewing, opened a 5,400-square-foot Beer Garden this spring. It's located next door to their restaurant, a block from the river in the Historic District.
Outdoor seating includes an assortment of picnic tables and benches—standard four-tops with comfy chairs—and a few community high-top tables with stools.
At night, the open area of the Beer Garden has a nostalgic, almost romantic air, created by strings of fisherman's lights hanging from the overhead trellis.
The Beer Garden's single-story Garden House is home to a kitchen and bar with three garage doors that can be opened on beautiful days, giving the space an urban-hip, Pacific Northwest feel.
The Beer Garden location makes it a perfect place to take a break from exploring and shopping. Put your feet up, watch people walk by and drink a craft beer.
The Moon River Brewing craft beer selection includes:
• Swamp Fox India Pale Ale
• Captain's Porter American Sweet Stout
• Apparition Ale English Pale Ale
• Belly-washer English Golden Ale
• Hootenanny Farmhouse Ale (Belgo-American Saison)
• Slo-vannah American Pale Ale
• Wild Wacky Wit (old-style Belgian Wheat Ale)
The Beer Garden menu depends on the day of the week, and whether food is being served from the main restaurant kitchen or the Garden House kitchen.
Need a nibble to go with that cold beverage? Try the garlic fries topped with blue cheese dressing, balsamic glaze, cilantro, fresh garlic, and bacon crumble.
